About Us

Mtuba Pre-Primary School, based in the heart of Zululand, is a registered NPO that strives to consistently provide fun, stimulating, educational learning experiences for its young students. The nurturing and supportive environment at Mtuba Pre-Primary School encourages learning and exploration through play. We endeavour to partner with like-minded organisations, working together to benefit our children and broader community. Founded in 1981, Mtuba Pre-Primary School honours the strong legacy that has gone before us, while looking forward to a bright future ahead.

Curriculum

All our learning programmes are expertly facilitated by our dedicated team of experienced teachers. We believe wholeheartedly in the importance of early childhood education. We are committed to creating strong foundations that support each young child’s development.

Our Team

Mrs Amy McIntosh

Our bubbly, beautiful and friendly face of the school. It’s hard to mention the many tasks that Amy does at the front desk but she overflows with kindness as she goes about her day. Her favourite things are joy, sunshine, glitter and unicorns and she certainly knows how to bring along the fun!

Mrs Rienie deJager

Our ever-patient Green Group (Grade RRR) teacher radiates warmth and gentlenesses as she teaches. She is gifted, creative and full of grace. Her little ones adore her, and so do we.

Miss Mecaela van der Merwe

Our lovely Red Group (Grade RR) teacher shows a deep care and concern for every child that she teaches. Music follows her and she exudes a love for life and all things beautiful. She is an absolute gem!

Mrs Shelley Phipson

Our Blue Group (Grade R) teacher and principal of Mtuba Pre-Primary teaches and leads with enthusiasm and passion. She believes deeply in the God-given potential of every child.

Miss Shanè Stander

Our joyful assistant teacher is also currently studying her Bachelor of Education. She is already an incredibly capable teacher and an absolute delight to be around. She is a talented baker and we all love taste-testing any of her amazing creations.

Our Support Staff

Vusi , Monica and Bongi serve with joy and are always a great help to both the children and teaching staff. Vusi keeps our garden in tip-top shape. Monica and Bongi help keep our school clean and sparkling as well as assisting little ones during garden play.
